ALERT - H-1B Initial Electronic Registration Selection Process Completed

Posted by Emilie (Ronald) Gough | Mar 28, 2023 | 0 Comments

On March 27, 2023 USCIS announced that it has received enough electronic registrations during the initial registration period to reach the FY2024 H-1B cap and master's cap. A random selection was made and all successful registrants have now been notified of selection.

Those who entered registrations for the FY2024 H-1B cap and master's cap will now see one of the following statuses in their online account:

  1. Submitted - The registration has been submitted and is eligible for selection. The registration will remain available for selection if USCIS chooses to run additional selections later in the year
  2. Selected - The registration has been randomly selected to file an H-1B petition.
  3. Denied - Multiple registrations were submitted by or on behalf of the same registrant for the same beneficiary. If denied as a duplicate registration, all registrations submitted by or on behalf of the same registrant for this beneficiary for this year's registration are invalid.
  4. Invalidated-Failed Payment - A registration was submitted but the payment method was declined, not reconciled, disputed, or otherwise invalid.

Selected registrants will be able to file their H-1B petition beginning April 1, 2023. The selection notice in a registrant's online account will give instruction as to where the petition must be filed. All petitions must be filed with USCIS no later than June 30, 2023
